An Arequipan priest, educator, and intellectual who was key to the educational development of southern Peru during the early republican years.
He promoted institutions such as the Colegio Independencia Americana and contributed to the strengthening of what is now the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, leaving an important legacy in the academic and educational formation of Arequipa.
