Víctor Andrés Belaúnde

1883 – 1966

“The voice that appeased the world. Philosopher of the spirit and concord. He took Peruvian diplomacy to its peak, raising his voice of peace from the Andes mountain range to preside over the United Nations at a time when humanity needed it most.”

An intellectual, writer, and diplomat from Arequipa who represented Peru in important international arenas. He served as President of the United Nations General Assembly in 1959.

He stood out for his humanistic thought and for promoting Peru's cultural and diplomatic prestige, strengthening international relations and the Peruvian presence in global organizations.
